Rancho Madera is a quiet neighborhood in Simi Valley, California that is located across from the Wood Ranch region. Residents enjoy the outdoor life while being close to many services.
Rancho Madera is comprised of homes that were built between 2000 and 2001. They offer three to five bedrooms and range from 2,156 to 3,665 square feet in living space.
This community is served by the Simi Valley Unified School District with highly ranked facilities like Sinaloa Middle School as well as Madera Elementary School and Royal High School. There are several private institutions to choose from including Arroyo Montessori, Faith Academy, and Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Many higher learning schools are in this region like Ventura College, Moorpark College, and Cal State Northridge.
Rancho Madero is also home to the Ronald Regan Presidential Library on Presidential Drive. This facility is the president’s final resting place along with his wife Nancy. It celebrates the life of the 40th U.S. president and is the largest of its kind.
This community is close to the 17 Freeway to the west and the 118 Freeway a little farther up to the north. There are many local shopping areas nearby and to the south by the freeway is the Simi Valley Town Center.
Close by is the Sinaloa Golf Course and the Wood Ranch Golf Course which offers a Ted Robinson course and facilities for special events. There are many trails throughout this region and the city has fifty parks that offer a variety of sports fields, open spaces, playgrounds, and picnic areas.
Simi Valley is considered to be a commuter bedroom community with residents working in larger areas like the San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, and Los Angeles. Notable landmarks include the Big Sky Ranch where Little House on the Prairie and Poltergeist was filmed.
